yeah yeah yeah… my opinions on lj are of some renown, yet here i am. i'm not going to
wiggle out a big explanation - i'll just stick with the old "if you
can't beat 'em, join 'em". i read the other day that placing punctuation outside of quoted text (c.f. above paragraph) is british grammar. us english is:
